At Brewongle Environmental Education Centre, we offer engaging, curriculum-linked excursions, incursions and camps for students from Early Stage 1 through to Stage 6 (Kindergarten to Year 12). Our programs are designed to bring learning to life through authentic, hands-on experiences across a range of Key Learning Areas. With programs developed and delivered by our team of qualified teachers and experienced environmental educators, students can explore, investigate and connect their classroom learning with the natural and cultural environment of Brewongle.

Primary programs

Aboriginal Culture

Brewongle offers authentic, age-appropriate Aboriginal cultural learning experiences that provide students with opportunities to connect with Dharug Country, culture, stories and traditional knowledge. Programs are delivered with the involvement of Aboriginal Cultural Educators or Aboriginal Education Teachers wherever possible, supporting students to develop a deeper understanding of the enduring connection between Aboriginal people and Country.

Targeted students: Primary school students from Early Stage 1 - Stage 3 (Kindergarten to Year 6)

Creative Arts

Brewongle’s Creative Arts programs inspire students to explore, create and express ideas through the natural, cultural and built environment. Through hands-on creative experiences, students can develop their skills in visual arts, storytelling, drama and creative expression while responding to Country, place and their surroundings.

Targeted students: Primary school students in Stage 3 (Year 5 and Year 6)

HSIE Geography

Brewongle’s Geography programs provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore places, environments, landscapes and human connections to Country. Through fieldwork and practical investigations, students develop geographical skills and apply classroom learning to real-world environments, with programs tailored to support the NSW Geography curriculum across a range of stages.

HSIE History

Brewongle’s History programs bring the past to life through hands-on learning, investigation and authentic experiences. Students explore people, places, events and perspectives, developing historical skills while making connections between the past, present and their local environment. Programs support the NSW History curriculum and can be tailored to suit different stages and learning needs.

Leadership and teambuilding

Brewongle’s leadership and team building programs challenge students to communicate, collaborate, problem-solve and build confidence in a supportive outdoor environment. Through practical challenges and shared experiences, students develop leadership skills, resilience, teamwork and positive relationships, with programs tailored to suit the age, needs and goals of each group.

Targeted students: Primary school students in Stage 3 (Year 5 and Year 6)

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

Brewongle’s PDHPE programs provide active, engaging experiences that support students to develop health, wellbeing, physical activity, teamwork and resilience. Through outdoor activities, challenges and collaborative experiences, students build confidence, communication and positive relationships while developing practical skills that support their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

Targeted students: Stage 2 and Stage 3 students (Year 3 to Year 6)

Science and Technology

Brewongle’s Science & Technology programs bring learning to life through hands-on investigations, experimentation, problem-solving and exploration of the natural environment. Students develop scientific thinking, inquiry and practical skills while investigating real-world concepts and applying their classroom learning. Programs support the NSW Science and Technology curriculum across different stages.

Brewongle’s Earth & Environmental Science programs provide students with hands-on opportunities to investigate Earth systems, natural environments, environmental change and sustainability. Through fieldwork, practical investigations and real-world experiences, students develop scientific inquiry and data collection skills while exploring the dynamic relationship between people and the environment.
