Program overview
Brewongle’s high potential and gifted education (HPGE) critical thinkers challenge engages Stage 3 to Stage 5 students in a range of enrichment activities specifically designed to develop the four domains of HPGE. Through authentic, inquiry-based challenges, students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with peers, and apply their knowledge in innovative ways.
The program aims to foster problem-solving and a love of learning while strengthening problem-solving skills and promoting personal growth. Students will leave with new insights, stronger connections, and a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Problem-solving and communication challenges Students rotate through a variety of challenges while learning how to solve problems and communicate effectively as a team. |

Engineering challenge – bridge building Students work in teams to design and construct a bridge using a limited selection of materials. Through testing and redesign, they apply principles of engineering, forces, and structural stability to create a bridge capable of supporting the greatest load. Students analyse their results, evaluate trade-offs, and use creative problem-solving and collaboration to optimise their designs. |

Outdoor escape room The clock is ticking! Students navigate the grounds of Brewongle EEC, solving scientific puzzles, deciphering clues, and overcoming challenges that require teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking to reveal the solution to a larger problem. |

Buses are booked by the visiting school. A map to the bus parking will be sent with the schools confirmation email. Please ensure you print the map and give to the bus driver the morning of the excursion. |

Using the Brewongle medical and welfare form (sent with the confirmation email), inform Brewongle staff of any medical conditions or special requirements prior to the visit This program can be adapted for teachers and students with specific mobility requirements |
| Adverse weather |
Visit our visitor information page to view our weather trigger points for program changes On days where the weather is unsuitable, a Brewongle staff member will contact the organising teacher to discuss alternative arrangements |
