Leadership & team building camp - HPGE

 

Support your student leaders and high potential and gifted students with our leadership and team building programs. Available as a day excursion or camp we offer a variety of team building, communication, problem solving and outdoor challenges that are designed to challenge students intellectually, provide opportunities for creativity and develop student's social and emotional capacity to interact with others and resolve conflict.

Leadership and team building is available as a one night/two day camp or a two night/three day camp.

 

  • Intellectual domain – refers to natural abilities in processing, understanding, reasoning, and the transfer of learning.
  • Creative domain – refers to natural abilities in imagination, invention and originality.
  • Social-emotional – refers to natural abilities in self-management and relating to and interacting with others.

 

Please note, activities on camp may vary depending on student numbers and the length of camp booked.

 

Activity 1 - Kayaking

Discover the wonders of Dyarubbin the Hawkesbury river in our 1 person kayaks. Test out your leadership skills with our kayak challenges.

 

Activity 2 - Mission Codebreak

Working in small teams, students will navigate around Brewongle using handheld GPS units and maps to find clues to break the hidden code.

 

Activity 3 - Leadership qualities and school project planning

Students will learn about leadership qualities when planning a project to improve an area of their school.

 

Activity 4 - Initiatives & teambuilding challenges

Students rotate through a variety of challenges while learning how to solve problems and communicate effectively as a team.

 

Activity 5 - Bushwalk to cave or Gunyah building

Bushwalk to cave for reflection and nature connection or challenge yourself to build a traditional shelter.

 

Activity 6 - Leadership Award application movies

These movies are the first step in receiving the Brewongle Leadership Award.

The award is voluntary and supervised by visiting school teachers. To achieve the award students will need to accomplish projects in the environmental, community and school leadership areas, as well as complete a challenging program of outdoor activities and leadership skills at Brewongle Environmental Education Centre.

Bus  details

Buses are booked by the visiting school.

A map to the bus parking will be sent with the schools confirmation email. Please ensure you print the map and give to the bus driver the morning of the excursion.

Adverse weather

On days where the weather is unsuitable, a Brewongle staff member will contact the organising teacher to discuss alternative arrangments.
