Living world - Where are Heidi and GG?

A rich student led program. Your class will engage in a creative, scenario-based investigation where they will help locate our missing blue tongue lizards on your school grounds.

Students explore their local area to learn about living things, and natural and built environments.

Activity 1 - Exploring habitat

Use our habitat assessment resource to find the perfect spot for lizards and then talk about where students think the best hiding place at your school for a blue tongue would be.

Activity 2 - Invertebrate hunt

Food for lizards: Search the school grounds for invertebrates and identify them based on the structure of their bodies.

Activity 3 - Bird search

Who are the lizards predators? Use our binoculars to search the school grounds for birds.

Activity 3 - Build a shelter

Collect sticks, leaves and bark and create a shelter for a blue-tongue based on your knowledge of habitat and predators
